The Chrysler Crossfire is a rear-wheel drive sports coupe or convertible. In 2003, Daimler Chrysler introduced the Crossfire, which replaced the Chrysler Prowler. This was the first fruit of a collaboration between Chrysler and Mercedes. The name Crossfire is associated with two characteristic lines that run from the front through the side door to the back and intersect here. It also symbolizes the collaboration between the two companies. The car has 39% of components taken from other Mercedes models. The Crossfire is built on the same chassis as the recently retired 1st generation Mercedes-Benz SLK. The interior, engine and power chain borrow from the German roadster. The 3.2l main engine, 18 valves, SOHC V6 has 215 hp (160 kW) and 310 Nm of torque. Owners and test drivers rated Crossfire similarly - the joint units with Mercedes were rated very favorably, but poor quality materials were used in the interior, as well as uncomfortable seats and poor rear visibility.
