The Pacifica is a mid-size SUV with a sporty rooster. This is the first product jointly designed by Chrysler-Daimler Benz. Daimler Chrysler missed the "explosion" of the SUV market, so the new Pacifica was introduced late, when many competitors had introduced second-generation models. The Chrysler company had great success with the minivans, but Pacifica was the first attempt to enter the SUV market. While this car shares a common platform with the Dodge and Chrysler minivans, it is neither a real SUV nor a minivan. It sits low, is comfortable to get in and out of, and the relatively long wheelbase provides ample space for occupants. Unfortunately, the Chrysler brand has historically "disagreed" with reliability and quality, although Pacifica is a big step forward in these areas.
