The Citroen C-Zero is a small city car powered only by an electric motor. Because creating an electric car is a really serious, labor-intensive and years-consuming job, the C-Zero was developed in collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors. The car has several close relatives - Peugeot iOn and, of course, Mitsubishi i-MiEV cars. Citroen has in its history tried to produce electric cars - it was an electric variant of the Citroen Saxo developed in the 1990s. However, the car turned out to be too expensive for customers - the price of batteries was very high, technology was imperfect, so the car remained experimental. The C-Zero looks oddly narrow, but is comfortable in the city, really spacious inside, and the luggage compartment reaches 166 liters. The 200 kg lithium-ion battery is mounted low under the floor, so the stability of the car is good. The car has one electric motor mounted on the rear axle with a power of 64 hp (47 kW) and a torque of 180 Nm. The top speed of the car is 130 kilometers per hour, acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 15 seconds. The vehicle has a single-drive transmission, rear-wheel drive and a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery that can be charged in 14 hours from a 110-volt power supply, in 7 hours from a 220-volt power supply and in just 30 minutes from a fast charging station. The manufacturer states that a single battery charge and a normal mode can cover distances of up to 130 miles.
The car has several close relatives - Peugeot iOn and, of course, Mitsubishi i-MiEV cars.

The C-Zero is not the company’s first electric car. A version of the Citroën Saxo was produced in the 1990s, but it was too expensive and the distance it could travel was very short. Only 5,500 of these Saxos were produced.
