The Citroen Xsara Picasso has been a compact minivan since 1999. The car can offer a comfortable, smooth ride, good handling. The Xsara Picasso was Citroen’s answer to the hugely popular compact MPV Renault Scenic. The rear seats of the Picasso can be removed to create more cargo capacity. It soon became the most sought-after multi-purpose vehicle in France, the UK and much of the rest of Europe. In 2006, Citroen introduced the successor to the title, the Citroen C4 Picasso, produced on the Citroen C4 platform.

Car description
Well, it’s a really spacious and attractive vehicle that gives a very pleasant feeling to drive it. It has a quite soft suspension due to which you may have an impression as if you are driving a double-decker bus :). In broad daylight I find difficult to notice anything in the digital display… If to make a comment on electronics, I haven’t notice any defects even though I’ve been using my car for more than three years, and yet it hasn’t let me down. It’s also worth to mention that since the mileage had been rolled back sometimes the odometer stops working. Unfortunately, that’s the way it is and it’s gonna be… I’d also mention the fact that the engine is very audible in the saloon and this gets on my nerves every time I drive at high rpms. So poor sound isolation is a big problem. Despite everything I’d say it’s worth paying attention to especially if you are interested in a so called family car.
Performance
This vehicle has a 2.0 HDi engine with 66 kW. It’s hard not to notice lack of power when accelerating and it is not economical to run. Have no additional thoughts about illegal fuel as an excuse to save up some money, this will only damage car’s engine. Other than this you ain’t have any problems with the engine if it is given proper attention and fuel is changed on the right time. As for my fuel consumption, when driving at 55-62 mph it takes 51 mpg, meanwhile in the city – not less than 35 mpg. Bearing in mind it’s size and weight, I believe it’s normal.
Reliability, running costs
Any prices paid for the car parts are enough reasonable. The chassis is very reliable too and if the time comes to fix it you ain’t gonna pay more than owners of Audi, Volvo or Vauxhall. No comments necessary about depreciation since I have no thoughts to sell it in a short time.
Recommendations to buyers
However, I wouldn’t recommend buying one with a 1.6 petrol engine for its fuel consumption is extremely high (26 mpg in the city) and it lack on power as for such a huge vehicle.
