The Ferrari F50 was created to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Ferrari. It is a supercar with a mid-mounted engine, a convertible body, a 4.7 L atmospheric 60-valve V12 engine built on the base of a 1992 L V12 1992 Ferrari F92A Formula 1 engine. This engine overtook the car itself - already in 1994 it was used in a Ferrari 333 SP car, which competed in the American IMSA series. Only 349 F50 units were produced. Special versions of the F50 GT were produced to take part in the GT1 class ring race. These cars have a solid fixed roof, a large rear spoiler and many other improvements. The 4.7-liter V12 engine has been tuned to produce around 750 hp (559 kW). In 1996 tests, the car proved to be even faster than the 333 SP. However, Ferrari did not develop this project as it focused on F1 racing. The standard F50 has a 4.7 L 60 valve 65 ° V12 engine with a maximum power of 513 hp (383 kW) / 8000 rpm and 470 Nm / 6500 rpm of torque. Acceleration from 0-100 km / h in 3.7 s and top speed of 202 miles per hour (325 km / h). The car uses F1 technology not only in the engine, but also in the suspension and other systems.
Only 349 F50 units were produced.
