Ford Mustang Mach-E, 2020 - present
With the recent emergence of more and more “new generation” cars i.e. electric cars we notice the game of the manufacturers with their names. Some manufacturers are introducing electric cars as a new line in their range (eg Mercedes EQ, Volkswagen ID, BMW i), while others are using heavy artillery to name their names, say Mazda has released the MX-30. which bears no resemblance to the earlier MX-3, and Ford has thrown its biggest trump card for its first electric car, the Mustang. It goes without saying that the Mustang has embodied the SUV, the most popular body these days. There are even five versions of this electric car on offer. There is a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and the distance traveled is from 400 to 600 km according to WLTP, depending on the version and battery capacity. The Select version has a standard battery with a capacity of 75.7 kWh, and this version has a power of 259 hp. The rear-wheel drive model has 414 Nm of torque and accelerates from 0 to 96 km / h (60 mph) in 6 seconds. The all-wheel drive Select version has 565 Nm of power and acceleration to 96 km / h in just 5.5 seconds. The Premium version has a really large battery with a capacity of up to 98.8 kWh. Powered by this version, the Mach-E has 286 hp and 414 Nm of torque, accelerating to 96 km / h in 6.5 seconds and driving 483 km. The all-wheel-drive version has 338 hp and 565 Nm, acceleration to 96 km / h in 5.5 seconds and a range of 435 km. For those who want a warmer experience, the most powerful version of the Mustang Mach-E GT is offered. The manufacturer claims that this version has a power output suitable for sports cars - 465 hp and 830 Nm. This model is available with all-wheel drive only and accelerates from 0 to 96 km / h (60 mph) in 3.5 seconds. The new-generation Ford voice-controlled communication system SYNC, which is capable of learning and memorizing driver habits, makes its debut in the new electric car. This system is controlled via a huge 15.5-inch vertical screen mounted in the center of the front panel. The Mustang Mach-E is the first Ford car to have a Phone As A Key system that allows you to use a cell phone instead of a key. Overall, the car’s interior style is minimalist, somewhat reminiscent of the Tesla Model X. From the outside, Ford is also similar to Tesla’s creations - sleek lines, a sloping roofline and a door with hidden handles. Clearly, the Ford company is targeting Tesla fans. Similarly, Ford’s work, the most powerful Mach-E GT version in terms of power, mileage, equipment level and price, is an extremely close competitor to the Tesla Model X, Audi E-tron and Mercedes EQC models. I wonder if these parameters and the Mustang name will suffice in the competitive battle with premium segment electric cars.
