The second-generation Ford Kuga has become larger, more spacious and replaces not only the old Kuga, but also the Ford Escape SUV produced in the North American markets. The design of the new car has remained very similar to the old one, but has become even more sporty - the front is contrasted by a small radiator grille at the top and a large fragment at the bottom, the sides are decorated with a bright line, and the trapezoidal details and headlights are clearly used at the rear. The interior is very similar to the design of the latest Ford Focus and C-MAX models - it can be called modern and high enough, although the abundance of buttons and switches is a bit disturbing. The first-generation Kuga featured extremely sharp handling, which was more reminiscent of a raised Ford Focus than a mid-size SUV. The new Kuga has become much softer, but the handling has suffered and can no longer match that of the class leader Mazda CX-5. The electric power steering also provides little feedback and is a bit too light. The counterweight to greater comfort is that the new SUV has a smart all-wheel drive system that takes into account changing driving conditions according to 25 different parameters and efficiently distributes power to each wheel. Among the nice innovations are some very practical features - an automatic rear door control system activated by a foot. There is enough leg movement under the rear bumper and the door opens or closes. The car is also equipped with Active Park Assist with sensors that warn the driver of obstacles in the blind spot of the mirrors. As mentioned, the car has become more spacious, so the 82-liter luggage compartment (which can be enlarged at the touch of a button by folding the backrests of the rear seats) will definitely delight nature lovers. The Ford Kuga is offered with two diesel 2-liter displacement TDCi engines ranging in power from 140 to 163 hp. The petrol is the new 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine, which is not only powerful but also economical.
