In the last ten years, only two really interesting Hondos have been introduced, the NSX and this first large-scale serial Honda electric car. Launched in 2017, the Honda Urban EV Concept immediately caught the eye in a small body embodied with a nice, clean design. The developers took advantage of the good old formula - if the car is small, it is definitely with large round lights, preferably a roof painted in a different color, let's hide the door handles, the front ones too and get a very nice car. True, although at first glance the serial and conceptual model do not differ much, but the conceptual seems much, much better in our opinion. The two-body, different headlight panel, stronger wheel arches, huge impressive design wheels, thinner struts, ala peugeot 205 GTi side window line and no unnecessary details - the conceptual Urban EV Concept model was absolutely perfect. Serial ... nothing too. If you like the exterior of this car, you will like the interior even more. There are three large screens almost the entire width of the instrument panel, two in the middle and one in front of the driver, two more screens at the edges transmitting the rear-view mirror image transmitted by the door-mounted camera and another screen mounted at the top of the rear-view mirror. All this variety of screens will make you feel like a programmer, security guard or like at home - if you turn on the aquarium mode with flying fish. Virtual mirrors are of course a tribute to fashion - installed in a very convenient location, the angle of filming is not the best to monitor traffic, but it's fun to see them for the first time in a non-premium segment car. The plus of the interior composition is that the information system can be comfortably used by a passenger sitting next to it, but the resolution of the screens is not the best resolution, the operation is a bit delayed and it is not difficult to notice. The example of Honda e shows how interior designs are being fundamentally transformed, adapting them to today’s needs and technologies. I wonder why this transformation only started with the advent of the electric car era? In addition to technology, the quality materials used and interesting design solutions, such as retro-style wood finishes, are gratifying. Although a fake wood, but it looks really cool and high quality. The interior is dominated by minimalism. Unfortunately, passengers sitting in the back and going on a longer trip will also feel minimalism - the trunk at Honda e is really small. This is because the compact 35.5kWh electric motor is mounted under the luggage compartment. It fixes things a bit that the little one is a five-door. On the road, the car is surprisingly comfortable, quiet, precisely controlled, verbally targeting the premium segment. This is aided by the low center of gravity of the electric vehicle and the independent all-wheel suspension. Plus, like the other little Renault Twingo, the Honda e is powered by rear wheels, and has a 50:50 weight distribution that will appeal to your inner Schumacher. Also for those who just need a small turning radius of just 8.6 m. True, this electric car is not cheap, and the distance traveled is certainly not the largest - only 220 km. But it's a city car, you will definitely find opportunities to charge an electric car.
