Introduced in 2007, the new CR-V has a completely new, much more aerodynamic design, with the most distinctive part being the front and sloping side window line. The third generation CR-V also has a diesel engine - 2.2 L i-CTDI produced in European and Asian markets. Another engine offered in Europe is the 2.0 L SOHC petrol engine with i-VTEC system. In the United States, the Honda CR-V became the most sought-after SUV in 2007 and finally surpassed the fifteen-year (1991-2006) reign of the Ford Explorer. The CR-V also no longer has a spare wheel attached to the rear door, which shortens the length of the car and lowers the center of gravity. The car also features safety, quality, spacious and flexible interior, improved sound insulation and the best handling of the coger in the SUV class. The CR-V really holds the road perfectly, which is partly due to the fact that the SUV is built on a platform that also uses the lightweight Honda Accord and Civic. The CR-V suspension is independent - MacPherson type at the front, multi-link at the rear. This SUV perfectly combines the practicality of an SUV with the best features of a sedan. The car has all the good features inherent in many Honda, among the disadvantages - gasoline engines could be more powerful.
This generation of CR-Vs was extremely popular in the U.S. market, overtaking all major competitors such as the RAV4 or Ford Explorer, which ruled this market for 15 years (1991-2006).
