Hyundai Kona, 2017 - 2023
Hyundai Kona is the first Kia compact SUV to compete with models such as the Mazda CX-3 and Toyota C-HR. The car is also equipped with a 1.6-liter T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine as in the Tucson model. This engine has a solid power of 130 kW and 265 Nm of torque and is one of the most powerful in its class. Engine power is transmitted to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The car is accelerator sensitive and extremely dynamic. The Kona's suspension is sportily adjusted, so despite its higher center of gravity, the SUV adheres admirably to its trajectory, even in sharp turns. True sound insulation is poor even compared to the new Hyundai i30, which also does not claim to be a luxury car. The cabin space at the front is good with plenty of room for passenger heads. What’s surprising is the ample space on the rear seats as well, which is why Hyundai says the Kona is the most spacious of all its competitors. Suppose, compared to the competitor Mazda CX-3, which is the same length and height, the Kona definitely has more legroom and headroom for passengers in the rear seats. This is achieved thanks to the 30 mm longer wheelbase. However, neither car is equal to the interior space of the Honda HR-V.
