After a 2-year hiatus, Sportage is back, now sharing a platform with Hyundai Elantra and Tucson. The Sportage became the first Kia crossover with SUV features. It has a 2.0 L I4 diesel engine. First-generation Sportage enthusiasts and critics complained that Generation 2 had become significantly larger and had lost the off-road capabilities of its predecessor. Still, buyers of the second-generation model appreciated the more powerful 173 hp V6 engine, as well as the significantly more comfortable, quieter and more fun ride, and the interior materials and quality became significantly better than the first-generation Sportage.
