Lamborghini Miura, 1966 - 1972
The Lamborghini Miura is a beautifully designed sports car built from 1966 to 1972. At that time, very successful racing cars had mid-mounted engines - the Ford GT40 and the Ferrari 250. De Tomaso also produced the road car Vallelunga with this engine layout. However, many other sports cars had a traditional layout - front engine and rear drive wheels. The Miura became the car that made engine layout at the rear of the car mandatory for a true breeding sports car. This Lamborghini is named in honor of the Spanish Ranch, whose bulls had become a proverb of aggression. The car’s amazing bodywork was created by Marcello Gandini of Bertone, and the car itself, unveiled at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show, caused a real sensation due to its colorful aerodynamic body and unusual engine. The first Miura known as the P400s (Posteriore 4 liters) had a 3.9 L Lamborghini V12 engine with 350 hp (257 kW). Some interesting details: The fuel tank is mounted on the front of the car. As the fuel level decreased, the front of the Miura became lighter and the car itself became unstable at a speed of 240 km / h. Another interesting detail: the open car door from the front made the car look like an angry bull. In 2004, the car was voted the fourth best sports car in the 1960s and 1970s, and the Miura is also voted the fourth best sports car of all time. As an apartment, this amazing Lamborghini is often unofficially described as the most beautiful car ever created ...
