Land Rover Discovery, 2004 - 2009
The Discovery 2 has always been a good SUV, but it couldn’t compete with more advanced and luxurious competitors - the Toyota Land Cruiser or the sporty BMW X5 or Mercedes-Benz M-Class. Discovery 3 had to fix this and became a brand new project with none of the components from the previous model. Its design is not typical to follow fashion, instead we see the solid, horizontal and vertical line style typical of any new Land Rover. This model has a number of advanced technologies, one of the most important and interesting - Terrain Response, which allows the driver to choose the off-road type, and the car adapts itself to road conditions. The Discovery was very well received, and Motor Trend magazine named the car the best SUV of 2005.
