Lexus has introduced the new second-generation GS sedan. Compared to its predecessor, GS has become a huge commercial success. The car was so well and warmly received that it was produced from 1998 to 2006. Consumers loved the richly inlaid interior and other features that enhance luxury and comfort. The car was also more economical, sportier than the more expensive LS and at the same time very luxurious. The ultra-reliable car received one of the highest consumer ratings in its class and outperformed titled competitors BMW and Mercedes-Benz cars. Motor Trend magazine named GS the best imported car of 1998 in the USA.
