In 2000, Lexus introduced the sporty convertible with a hard folding roof. The car had a 4.3 L V8 engine with variable valve timing (VVT-i) technology, developed 288 hp (214.76 kW), 430 Nm of torque and was able to accelerate to 100 km / h in 6 seconds. Lexus designers from Europe and Japan worked together to create the car. The result is a snug, sleek silhouette and excellent driving characteristics. The SC has an aluminum roof, leather interior, 18-inch aluminum rims and can accommodate four people, although the rear seats are extremely small. The car was praised for its attractiveness, comfort, speed and quiet and smooth behavior on the road. In 2006, the SC 430 began competing in the Super GT Series in the GT500 class (cars with approximately 500 horsepower). The significantly modified car replaced the previously participating Toyota Supra race car and won the championship the same year.
