The Lotus Exige is basically a Lotus Elise-only coupe version produced with 1.8 L engines. In 2004, the 1.8 L 16-valve DOHC Toyota / Yamaha engine, which develops 190 hp, was introduced. Compared to the Elise, the Exige has a fiberglass roof and a bonnet, rear spoiler. The purpose of these changes is to increase the clamping force generated. A 50 Exiges series with a 1.8 L turbo Toyota engine with 243 hp has been produced and limited, this version develops 0-100 km / h in 3.9 s and 0-160 km / h in 9.9 s and reaches a maximum of 249 km / h speed.
