The Maserati MC12 is a sports car launched in 2004 with only 55 cars (each sold for € 600,000). Maserati designed and built the MC12 on the Enzo Ferrari chassis, but the MC12 is much larger - it is longer, wider and taller than the Enzo Ferrari, which has better acceleration and higher top speed. The MC12 has a top speed of 330 kilometers per hour, while the Enzo Ferrari has a top speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The Maserati MC12 project began at a time when Maserati was still owned by Ferrari. The MC12 symbolizes Maserati’s return to racing after a 37-year hiatus. Three GT1 race cars were delivered to the FIA GT, where they were immediately a success. The car has a center-mounted engine, which improves the car’s cornering stability. The weight distribution is very good - 41% of the weight goes to the front and 59% to the back. However, due to the clamping force generated by the rear spoiler at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour, the weight is distributed as follows: 34% for the front and 66% for the rear. The MC12 engine is a six-liter (5998 cc) Enzo Ferrari V12 powerplant converted to a 65 ° angle. Each cylinder has four valves and a total power of 465 kilowatts (632 hp) / 7500 rpm, torque 652 Nm / 5500 rpm. The Maserati MC12 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.8 seconds and up to 200 kilometers per hour in 9.9 seconds. The rear wheels receive power through a semi-automatic gearbox, which is the same as the Enzo only with different gear ratios. Despite the fact that the car is designed as a homologated version of the race car, its interior is luxurious. The car is also clumsy - it is very long and wider than the Hummer H2, but on the racetracks the MC12 feels great and is perfectly controlled. Recently, Evo magazine tested the MC12 in the famous Nordschleife ring, where it reached a time of 7: 24.29. This is a whole second better time than Ferrari Enzo and overall the second best result on this track is landed only by the Dodge Viper ACR!
