Maybach 57/62, 2002 - 2013
The Maybach 57 and 62 models are the first models to be put into series production since the revival of the Maybach name in 1997. The roots of these cars are a concept car built on the basis of a Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan presented at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1997. Indeed, the DaimlerChrysler AG group tried to acquire Rolls-Royce / Bentley in the 1990s, but failed to do so because it was surpassed by the Volkswagen and BMW groups that split Rolls-Royce / Bentley. As a result, DaimlerChrysler AG restored the Maybach brand with models 57 and 62 as a direct competitor to models such as the Bentley Arnage or Rolls-Royce Phantom. Both Maybach models are presented as ultra-luxury cars and it is they who are to blame for the fact that Maybach “earned” the company the first place in the 2008 most prestigious mature elections. It's worth talking about car equipment, and the engines are Mercedes 5.5-liter V12 with two turbines and develop 405 kW. The even more powerful Maybach 57S and 62S versions are also available with a 6.0-liter V12 engine with 450 kW (612 hp) and an impressive 1001 Nm of torque.
