Finally, we received a logical offer from Mazda - the compact crossover CX-5. It is the first Mazda model based on Skyactiv Technology (a lightweight, rigid platform combined with high-compression engines to minimize fuel consumption and CO2 emissions) and the first to feature a new design slogan, KODO - Soul of Motion. What the new design direction will be different from what has been used so far is difficult to say, because the CX-5 is really reminiscent of the attractive Mazda models produced so far, especially the Mazda 2. The car has an expressive front end, dynamic and energetic style and undoubted drive. Inside, the CX-5 is simple, practical and surprisingly spacious. The suspension provides a good combination of comfort and stability, only the steering mechanism lacks precision. The car is sold with both two and all four wheel drive systems. The manufacturer installs 2.0-liter gasoline and 2.2-liter diesel engines in the new CX-5. The 2.0 (PE-VPS) engine has 162 hp (121 kW) and 210 Nm of torque, with average fuel consumption of just 5.9 L / 100 km! The diesel features a record 14.0: 1 compression ratio, which gives it the highest possible efficiency. This (SH-VPTS) engine has 147 hp (110 kW) and 380 Nm of torque, the other diesel version of this engine achieves 173 hp (129 kW) and even 420 Nm of torque. The weaker cogero diesel engine is the most economical in its class - its average fuel consumption is just 4.5 L / 100 km.
