Mazda CX-9, 2016 - present
Mazda conducted research to develop the CX-9 to find out what’s most important to seven-seater SUV owners. The company concluded that owners of such a car rarely use up the full power of their engine power. So the new CX-9 comes with just one 2.5-liter turbo engine. There is also a strong focus on convenience and comfort. The design of the car is not unexpected - the company maintains its characteristic style, which is dominated by a huge trapezoidal radiator grille at the front and small strongly elongated headlights and taillights. Inside, the car boasts a completely redesigned interior that is very similar to the completely different Mazda interiors - the Mazda3 and MX-5. The panel is designed to give a sense of space and a kind of sportiness. The interior uses real wood, leather, real aluminum in the door and panel trim, giving passengers a slightly unexpected luxury impression. The interior also has good sound insulation thanks to acoustic windshields and soundproofing materials used in the floor structure. Mazda even claims that the CX-9 is one of the quietest SUVs in its class.
