Mercedes-Benz CLS Class, 2018 - present
The purpose of the Mercedes-Benz CLS is to provide a certain representation of the company. It’s a car that will never be sold much. It’s too specific - if you want a really luxurious Mercedes, buy an S-Class. If you want practical, buy E class, if you want compact - C class, if sporty - there are CL, SL and SLK for your choice. And yet the CLS has its own circle of fans - people looking for exclusivity, wanting to drive a slightly different car than everyone else. Verbally a character close to many of us. The third-generation Mercedes-Benz CLS got rid of the sides of the car that adorned the muscular lines of its predecessor and became similar to the very first CLS, which was very aptly christened "banana" in Lithuania. The newcomer has all the features of this Mercedes class - a low roof, tiny windows and a wide body. This is a truly exclusive Mercedes. And yet he is missing something. It seems that the design of this car no longer has a clear idea - the front is blank (and too similar to the small A-Class model), and the rear looks like it was created by a designer who thought not about the work, but rather about the upcoming weekend. True, the interior of the car is really great - it is an impressive combination of quality, flight and exclusivity. Here are two 12.3-inch screens that run over the instrument panel and are combined into one part. On the left are digital driver aids, complemented by windscreen projections, and on the right, informational entertainment. 360-degree cameras, 64 LED interior lighting options, odor distribution system, massage seats, etc. A Mercedes company could be used, but the same interior and similar comfort options are used in the E-Class Mercedes. So this is another reason to think about buying this cheap car. The CLS is equipped with a completely new engine family. The CLS 450 has a 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line petrol engine with 270 kW of power and 500 Nm of torque. There is also a generator called Mercedes-Benz EQ Boost, which briefly delivers an additional 16 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque. There are 5 gearshift modes - Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport + and fully manual mode using the levers behind the steering wheel. The CLS can also have a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system that delivers 69 percent. power to the rear axle.
