Mercedes-Benz E Class, 1984 - 1995

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a mid-size prestigious car made with sedan, station wagon, coupe and convertible bodies. The sign E once meant “Einspritzung” (German for fuel injection), but now it just means class. The car was very popular (one of the most popular Mercedes ever made) - it was of impeccable quality and reliability. As a result, it was the most popular taxi car in Europe. Mercedes-Benz offered factory-fitted cars for taxi, police or ambulance needs. The E-Class had a modified McPherson strut at the front and a multi-link at the rear, which is used by many manufacturers today. This model had a lot of innovation in the automotive industry at the time - it had one of the lowest coefficients of air resistance among cars at the time - only 0.28, it had a unique windscreen wiper that was only one, but could reach the farthest corners of the windshield, had folding rear seat backrests head (to improve visibility backwards), had a Mercedes-Benz 4Matic four-wheel drive system, was the first mass-produced car to use lightweight high-hardness steel, and since 1988 has been one of the first to have a passenger-side airbag.
