The Mitsubishi 3000GT is a sporty coupe / convertible produced in conjunction with the twin Dodge Stealth in North America. The 3000GT was designed to compete with the Mazda RX-7, Nissan 300ZX, Skyline GT-R and Toyota Supra. For a decade, it was Mitsubishi’s flagship with the latest technology of the time: a permanent all-wheel drive system, a four-wheel drive system, active aerodynamics with automatic front and rear spoilers, and an electronically controlled suspension. It should be noted that many of these innovations were not fitted to later models. In 1995 and 1996, the 3000GT SL convertible with a hard one-button auto-folding roof was produced, but the model was not popular (but it was the 3000GT SL that predicted the appearance of the MercedesBenz SLK). The most powerful version had a DOHC 24v V6 engine with two turbines and an impressive 221 kW (300 hp) / 6000 rpm and 415 Nm / 2500 rpm of torque.
