Mitsubishi Space Star, 2012 - present
The Mirage / Space Star is an economical and relatively modest response from Mitsubishi to the plentiful mini (Class B) competitors: VW Up !, Skoda Citigo or Hyundai i10. Yes, the Mitsubishi Space Star certainly won’t stand out from the crowd, but it can offer an unexpectedly large cabin space, great maneuverability at a really low price. The car is equipped with three-cylinder engines: a 1.0-liter unit with 70 hp and a 5-speed manual transmission, and a 1.2-liter engine with 79 hp and a manual or CVT gearbox. The design of the car is extremely "Japanese", modest, say 10 years ago. On the other hand, such a simple solution often appeals to many, and the results of the work are reflected in sales figures. The biggest advantages of the Space Star are large interior space, good visibility in all directions, easy to operate devices and maneuverability (turning radius is only 4.6 meters). True, on country roads, the Space Star will soon be reminded that this is not its element - the car has a considerable cornering angle, is quite noisy, and the engines are clearly lacking in power. The luggage compartment of the small hatchback is 235 liters, which is more than its close relative Mitsubishi Colt, which is just 160 liters. But still lags far behind competitors VW Up! (251 liters) and Hyundai i10 (258 liters).
