Introduced in early 2000, the second-generation Nissan Almera differs from its predecessor in its gentle, curved lines. While there are those who believe that the design of the car is blank compared to the competitors, the new Almera has been well sold all over the world. The N16 Almera is manufactured on Nissan’s global MS platform developed after Nissan began partnering with Renault. This platform is the basis for both the new Primera and Almera Tino. The N16 Almera is better controlled, more confident on the road and more dynamic than the old one, even today it is considered to be one of the best managed small family cars on the market, among other things being very reliable and high quality. However, unlike the previous Almera, this generation model has less space for rear passenger legs, this is due to the fact that the car has a smaller than average wheelbase in its class - 2.53 meters. Almera has also received new 1.5-liter turbodiesel engines from the Renault Megane II, the first exchange of mechanical parts between Nissan and Renault.
A small female city car. Year of manufacture 2004, purchase mileage was about 106 t.km Equipment decent enough for a compact car (alloy wheels, climate control) Cute car looks angry from the front after upgrades, other cars often pull off when driving on a narrow road :) . The dynamics with the 1.5 diesel engine are quite decent. We chose a small, economical car for my wife - Almera's price-quality ratio turned out to be the best. It's really fun to drive around the city with this car, the small dimensions make it easy to maneuver and park. During the 2 years of operation, faults occurred: the generator (Renault) failed, the whole generator had to be replaced because the repair was more expensive than replacing it with a used one (LTL 200). The fan control amplifier . Tech inspection after 2 years of operation would have passed immediately if not the condition of the tires. So nissan?s friendship with Renault didn?t add quality to the Japanese. What I don't like about this car is the very modest sound insulation, it is practically absent from the doors and the tailgate, so it makes a lot of noise when driving outside the city at higher speeds. The quality of the assembly could be better (the air conditioning and cooling pipes in the engine compartment are strangely cluttered).
Performance
The French 1.5 DCi Renault engine is very economical, no complaints, just running costs. From there, the car moves deftly enough because it weighs little.
Reliability, running costs
Operation apart from a few inexpensive failures is not expensive. After purchase, it was necessary to align the wheels, change oils, filters, etc. During the service life, the rear brake pads were replaced. Suspension without reproaches, no one wakes up. Fuel consumption depends very much on the driving style. The fuel in the city takes about 5 - 5.5 l, on the track in various ways, driving economically at a speed of about 90 km / h, fuel consumption is about 3.3-3.4 km, when you press over 110 km, the consumption starts to approach 5 l.
Recommendations to buyers
Great looks, compact yet capacious city car, economical engine, what more is needed for a city car. Despite the faults, the car is very satisfied.
