The second-generation Nissan Micra was equipped with all-new aluminum 1.0 L (CG10DE) and 1.3 L (CG13DE) DOHC 16-valve engines with 55 hp and 75 hp, respectively. Both engines with ECCS (Electronic Concentrated Control System) fuel injection system. The weakness of the Micra is security, where it has earned only a modest two stars in Eure NCAP tests. However, the car was popular, with better than average assembly quality, economy. It’s a real city car. Just appearing, the Micra soon won the European Car of the Year award in 1993 (the first Japanese car to win this title) and the Car of the Year title in Japan. In 1997, a version with a convertible body was introduced, and even a car with a universal body was produced.
