Vauxhall Astra, 1991 - 1998
The innovative Opel Astra took over the baton from the Opel Kadett, which has been honored for many years. The new Opel model looked very attractive at the time, in addition to the wider body nature - the car was offered with a three- or five-door hatchback, sedan, station wagon and net convertible designed by Berton. The car would have a wide range of reliable and most important economical engines. It was a comprehensive and serious competitor to the famous Volkswagen Golf model. The most powerful version of the Astra on the European market was the well-known GSi with a 2.0 L 16V petrol injection engine and 151 hp (110 kW), the equivalent of the competitor's Volkswagen Golf analogue GTi. The most powerful version of the 200t S was designed exclusively for the PAR market with 206 hp and 286 Nm of torque. "T" stands for turbocharger, a C20LET engine borrowed from European knowledge Opel Calibra and Opel Vectra A 4x4 2.0 16V turbo versions. While in these cars, this engine spins all four wheels, but local PAR engineers have handed over traditional sled-wheel drive. Just imagine a budget budget for the early 90's "Opel with almost BMW M3 power". Unfortunately, these models are not accepted in Europe.
