Although the first-generation Opel Insignia was not a stunning car, it was praised by European buyers thanks to its subtle, well-matched design, attractive prices and poor quality. This time, the Insignia, together with the well-rated new generation Astra models, will try to continue to make its way into the hearts of buyers and shape the image of the premium segment car. The manufacturers' strategy was chosen similarly to the highly successful Skoda Superb model - the Insignia became much bigger and more solid. The Insignia, which has been extended to almost 5 meters in length and “clad” with 20-inch rims, becomes a real flagship of the company that can compete with Volkswagen Passat or even Volkswagen Arteon models. In fact, this Opel is no shorter than the Audi Q7. Although the car has become significantly longer, the front and rear projections have become shorter, all of which has drastically increased passenger space. Only due to a heavily sloping roof can tall passengers at the rear run out of space. Although the interior space has increased significantly, the luggage compartment has been reduced from 40 liters to 490, which is far from the Skoda Superb's "storage" with 625 liters. Because the Insignia is focused on comfort and sophistication, Opel's handling cannot match that of the sporty Ford Mondeo and Mazda 6. Despite the small displacement engines, the Insignia does not lack dynamics - the small 1.5-liter petrol and 1.6-liter diesel turbo engines both have a solid 168 hp. The previous Insignia was a great car to take you from point A to point B, but the new model, with its more solid interior, sophisticated exterior design, and significant growth, aims to become a premium. Maybe the Insignia will do what the Opel Omega failed to do ...
