The second generation Vectra model was introduced in 1995. The Vectra station wagon was also developed for the first time. Engine power ranged from 71 hp (52 kW) 1.6 L to 2.5 L V6 with 170 hp (125 kW). The popular 2.0-liter engine with 136 hp (100 kW) was also produced, which was used as the basis for the sporty Opel Vectra in the body car championship. The diesel engine was taken from the Isuzu company. In 1999, the Vectra was slightly refurbished with new bumpers, solid headlights and a refurbished interior. The rare most powerful version, inspired by the BTCC Body Touring Championship, in which Opel participated for a long time, was also produced. This version had a V6 engine with 195 hp (143 kW).
