The Porsche 928 was one of the most expensive cars in the Porsche GT class. In 1983, the 928 with a 4.7 L-16v engine was the fastest car sold in North America, and in 1986 it was the fastest road car in the world, reaching 277 km / h in the salt plains of Utah. The 928 had a large, front-mounted, water-cooled V8 engine with rear-wheel drive and a 2 + 2 seat formula. Both seats can be folded up to increase the luggage compartment. The 928 was also the first vehicle to have steering tools on the steering wheel. The mission of this model was really not easy - to replace the 911 model, which has been produced for many years, but as history has shown, some cars are simply irreplaceable.
It was the first production Porsche with a V8 engine.

In 1978, the Porsche 928 won the European Car of the Year title by winning the BMW 7 Series and Ford Granada. To date, the Porsche 928 remains the only sports car to win this prestigious award.

There was even an extended version of the 928, as well as an extended version with a door that opens in opposite directions, similar to the Mazda RX-8.
