The Saab 9-2X is based on the Subaru Impreza model and is manufactured at the Fuji plant in Japan. The 9-2X has a lot in common with the Impreza, so it is called the Saabaru and is only produced with a station wagon body. The car was introduced to the North American market, but it was not popular, and after the GM / Subaru spin-off, production of the 9-2X was discontinued altogether. The most powerful version features the famous Impreza WRX DOHC turbo 2.5-liter engine with 230 hp (172 kW) / 6000 RPM and 319 Nm / 3600 RPM of torque. The instrument panel is exactly the same as the Impreza, but with more acoustic material used in the interior, the door panels and seats are designed by Saab. While from the outside the car is very similar to the Subaru WRX station wagon, the hood, front, rear fenders and headlights are specific to the 9-2X Saab.
