The Toyota-owned Scion brand tC is built on the Toyota Avensis platform. This compact coupe is sold in the North American market and is often considered the successor to the discontinued Toyota Celica since 2005. The name tC falls out of the context of the name of other Scion models (other models are named xA, xB, and xD), but the name xC was already used by the Volvo brand (models XC60, XC70 and XC90), so I had to choose "tC" which means "touring coupe" .
