At the 2007 Chicago Motor Show, Toyota unveiled the second-generation Scion xB compact minivan. The new model is not as angled as the first generation, plus it’s bigger. The car of its predecessor grew by 71 mm in width, 300 mm in length, and the wheelbase lengthened by 100 mm. At the same time the car weighed a total of 270 kg. The first-generation Scion xB was a clone of the Toyota bB, while the second-generation xB is an original car more "appealing" to the American buyer - it has become rounder, more conventional, has larger-volume engines. The Scion xB can be easily personalized - the car is offered with a wide range of accessories, from body trim to power lifting equipment. The most powerful engine in the car is the Toyota Camry 2.4-liter unit with 158 horsepower. Normally, cars in this class aren’t a great pleasure to drive, but the Scion xB, while not the most sporty minivan, is dynamic - its suspension and steering are designed to actively maneuver, making the car more stable, more “focused” at higher speeds. This is to give the impression that the car is delivering more than expected.
