A popular compact car that behaves like a passenger car on the road, it is equivalent to an SUV in terms of spaciousness and off-road features. In 2005, the Subaru Forester was upgraded, acquiring an aluminum hood, AVCS system. A version of the Subaru STi with the same turbo engine as the 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi was also released in Japan, but thanks to a different engine, the power output was an impressive 320 hp (240 kW). Thanks to safety, excellent handling, perfect for the narrow streets of the city, the high-seat car is highly valued. Disadvantages include poor economy, cramped rear seats and annoying noise.

Car and Driver magazine named the Subaru Forester the best compact SUV in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
