Subaru Impreza, 2011 - 2016
It is clear that Subaru has been trying to make its models more mainstream for some time. The new Impreza confirms this simply by example. The new model no longer radiates a desire to stand out from the crowd or demonstrate its racing origins. The design of the Impreza is simple, acceptable, logical and very similar to the other Subaru - XV. Yes, these two models are linked by an engine, a gearbox, and an all-wheel drive system. Compared to its predecessor, the height of the new Impreza has been reduced by one centimeter, the length has not changed, the chassis base has been extended by 2.5 cm, resulting in more legroom for rear passengers, and the luggage compartment has been increased by a total of 80 liters. The interior of the car, as it was Spartan, remained the same - nothing is noticeable too much, but the quality of materials has improved. The Impreza for the European market is equipped with only one 1.6-liter petrol engine with a maximum power of 114 hp and a maximum torque of 150 Nm. The engine is equipped with a five-speed manual or CVT gearbox and an all-wheel drive system. The model for the US market is also sold with a 2.0-liter engine and a sedan body. Although the suspension of the new Impreza is perfectly balanced, the brakes are effective, but the steering is obviously too "soft". Taking all this into account, it can be said that the new model is designed more for women, for quiet and safe driving and for those who want a non-exclusive, practical and probably reliable car.
