Subaru Impreza WRX, 2005 - 2007
In 2005, all Impreza were refurbished again and received a new front end - this time the front became similar to the larger Subaru B9 Tribeca, with a three-part grille, as well as new headlights, taillights and bumpers. Opinions differ on this style, but are generally rated as better than it was in the older Impreza and better than in the Tribeca model. The biggest change, though, is the engine - 2.0 replaced with a larger 2.5-liter one. Engine power remained similar at 230 hp. The 2006 Impreza WRX models have an updated chassis and brake system. Aluminum lower links are used in the front suspension. Larger 292 mm cooled brake discs with 4 cylinders were mounted at the front, the rear brakes became cooled and increased to 287 mm in diameter instead of the usual and 262 mm in diameter. The car, like the previous Imprezos, is extremely pleasant to drive, with very good and sharp handling, quality, and the station wagon also has a large luggage compartment. The great sound of the boxer engine is also cute to the ears, and the continuous AWD system is always useful in bad road conditions. Great car for WRC lovers.
