Subaru Impreza WRX STI, 2002 - 2005
The eternal opponent of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is the Subaru Impreza WRX STi. In 2002, Subaru upgraded the car with more traditional, more square headlights. The all-wheel drive system, sharp control and explosive power engine are what true WRC enthusiasts want. The WRX STi stands out from its other Impreza brothers with larger 17 "x7.5" alloy wheels, a new STi unit designed with a 6-speed manual transmission. The interior has been updated with STi emblems on dials and other appliances. The STi was available with the Brembo 4-cylinder front and 2-cylinder rear brakes. Externally, the STi has a larger rear spoiler, a larger air trap on the hood, fog lamp covers with STi inscriptions. The differential DCCD has been upgraded to work with ABS. During braking, when the ABS is activated, the DCCD system switches to the neutral position. The engine has 280 hp (206 kW) of power, although a limited number of series have been released that also have more powerful power plants. Such is the MY04 WRX STi series in honor of Petter Solberg, who became the champion of the 2003 WRC drivers. This car had 316 hp (236 kW) and was able to accelerate to 100km / h in just 4.25 seconds. In addition, it should be mentioned that the car is also suitable for everyday use.
