The fifth-generation RAV4 debuted in 2018. March. At the New York International Auto Show. The new design was largely “borrowed” from the charismatic FT-AC concept unveiled in 2017. Although the design changes are not very significant, it is clear that the developers wanted to give the car more aggression and masculinity. This is accentuated by angled wheel arches, sharp strict lines. This makes this SUV stand out from the rest, which is often not much different from conventional sedans or hatchbacks. We don't remember the first-generation RAV4, which were small and playful SUVs - the complete opposite of the current RAV4. Inside, the car gives a typical Toyota impression - the interior is not impressive, but quality. The upper part is soft, but the lower part, as expected, is made of hard plastic. The center-mounted large LCD screen is not extremely good resolution and works extremely fast, but Toyota has installed information displays between speed and rpm readings. There are plenty of cavities and compartments of different sizes inside, with enough space for the three adults sitting in the back, but when we open the armrest we can’t find a cavity in the luggage compartment, which is pretty weird. The new SUV is built on the TNGA-K platform, as are the eighth-generation Camry, fifth-generation Avalon and seventh-generation Lexus ES cars. The car is equipped with four-cylinder petrol and gasoline-electric hybrid (Hybrid Synergy Drive) engines, and diesel versions will no longer be produced. Versions with front or all-wheel drive are available. Basically, the RAV4 is quite practical and comfortable - the car's suspension absorbs road bumps well, the seats are comfortable, visibility in all directions is good, only the side rear windows are small. This is a car that will be acceptable to many.
