The Opel Astra is a small family car designed and manufactured by GM's Opel. In 2004, the new Astra went on sale with 3- and 5-door hatchbacks, 4-door sedans and convertibles. The chassis of the Astra, like its predecessor, was matched by the Lotus company, and the car’s base is used in the production of the seven-seater compact monovolume Opel Zafira. The car also had a so-called "panoramic roof", which was an extension of the windshield and was at one time a unique solution in the production of a series car. In 2005, an excellent version of the OPC (Opel Performance Center) was introduced with a 2.0 L turbo ecotec engine with an impressive 240 hp (177 kW) and 320 Nm of torque. It is designed to compete with chains such as the VW Golf Gti, Honda Civic Type-R or Ford Focus ST.
