After the appearance of the sixth-generation Volkswagen Golf, it was only a matter of time before the Volkswagen Jetta using the same platform would appear. The design of the car is based on the style currently used in all VW models - strict, restrained lines, angled headlights, the main emphasis is on order and harmony. The car has become 90 mm longer than its predecessor (wheelbase 73 mm longer than the 6th generation Golf), its distinctive feature is a huge 510-liter boot. In fact, the Jetta is more like a mini Passat than its brother Golf. Not surprisingly, the new Jetta is technically more different from the Golf - the cars no longer have common body parts. However, the salon is “borrowed” from the Golf model. Here we are greeted by the well-known VW design, comfortable, neat, easily accessible devices and the German assembly quality that has become the benchmark. Under the hood are diesel TDI (1.6 L 104 hp and 2.0 L 138 hp) and TSI petrol (1.4 L 120 and 158 hp) petrol engines. For an extremely heavy-duty car, these engines provide enough power so that they don't run out on winding European mountain roads and flat motorways. The car is obedient, predictable when cornering and absorbs road bumps well. Obviously, the Jetta attracts exactly those buyers who are attracted to sedans, and the VW Passat model is too expensive for them.
