This is a true seven-seater copy of the Sharan, only slightly smaller. In fact, the Touran is very similar to other Volkswagen models - Golf, Jetta or Polo. The design of the car is restrained, somewhat angled, but acceptable to many. The Touran is designed for simplicity, practicality and economy - after all, the smallest engine reaches just 1.2 displacements. Unlike the Sharan, the Touran’s doors are not sliding but openable. Inside, the car boasts an excellent driving position, from which visibility in all directions is impeccable, as well as good quality of materials used. The cabin is quiet - well insulated from wind, tires and engine noise. The weakest are the 1.2-liter (105 hp) and 1.4-liter (140 hp and 170 hp) engines. The weaker one is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and the more powerful one is equipped with a 7-speed robotic automatic DSG gearbox. There are a total of 4 diesel engines. The turbodiesel 1.6 engine develops 90 hp or 105 hp. The 2.0-liter diesel engine develops 140 hp or 170 hp. On the road, the car is reliable, predictable and well controlled even in sharp turns.
