The Citroën DS4 is the second model in the dynasty of prestigious DS models. This series is produced in parallel with the "regular" Citroën models and features an exceptionally dynamic design, sportiness, higher-quality interior materials, and the ubiquitous DS badges. The DS4 is based on the second-generation Citroën C4 and is taller, wider and shorter than the latter. The design is a definite advantage of this model - the style has been very well received by the world press. At the DS4 International Car Festival, the new BMW 5 Series and Honda CRZ, which won the most beautiful car of the year, were chosen, and the German magazine Auto Bild awarded the car first place in the best design category. The car has a silhouette similar to graceful lines as the recently unveiled younger brother Citroën DS3, a sympathetic front end with a masterfully integrated Citroën logo, accentuated wheel arches, intricately shaped taillights, a panoramic windscreen, giant 19-inch rear wheels, and a sleek 19-inch wheel Alfa Romeo Giulietta or Nissan Juke). Despite the great design, the developers have not forgotten the practicality - the car can comfortably accommodate five adult passengers, the center console has a refrigerated luggage compartment, the 370-liter luggage compartment is larger than the Volkswagen Golf, and the high driver's seat has to rescue the narrow streets of European cities. True, the rear side windows do not open, which will not delight the passengers sitting in the rear seats. The DS4 has a stiffer suspension, a more informative steering mechanism than the Citroën C4 - which only emphasizes the dynamic nature of the DS4. The DS4 petrol engines are the result of a collaboration between PSA and BMW. They are all 1.6 L displacement, four-cylinder, 16-valve units. The main engine is a VTi 120 atmospheric with 120hp (88 kW) power. The THP 155 is the same Vti-only turbine engine with 156 hp (115 kW) and a 6-speed gearbox. The most powerful engine is the THP 200 with 200 hp (147 kW). There are two diesel units: the first is the HDi 110, 1.6 L, four-cylinder with 112 hp (82 kW), the second is 2.0 L, the four-cylinder HDi 160 with 163 hp (120 kW) is available in the Citroën C5.
