Fantastic style electric car! Recently, South Korean manufacturers Hyundai and Kia have been loading all competitors - not only sleeping Japanese, but also snobbish Europeans. These two companies look more refreshed, dynamic and full of ideas than ever before - one after the other, launching new models for the right sector and with the right design and technology. They’ve been developing electric cars for almost a decade, and the latest models like the Kia EV6, Kia Sportage or Hyundai Tucson look really exciting. And if the Kia EV6 looks just interesting, its Hyundai analogue Hyundai Ioniq 5 looks stunningly stylish. If the conceptual model of the Honda e electric car was really great, then the serial model lost its charm. And here the Hyundai Ioniq 5 series version retained all the most beautiful features that captivated us in the conceptual model. Not only has the car retained its angular styling, the same sporty proportions, beautiful front and rear LED lights and recessed door handles, but the manufacturer doesn't even give up the shape of the profiled side door - such design features are usually retained in conceptual models. True, if you like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 style, pay attention to the new Opel Mokka and Opel Astra. Inside, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 greets passengers with a great horizontally extended dashboard style that can be described as minimalist. The idea of the elongated design is echoed by the two-spoke steering wheel. The instrument panel consists of two 12-inch screens, one for driver-relevant information and the other for entertainment and settings. The Ioniq 5 also has a gearshift mounted on the lever behind the steering wheel, as well as a projected glass screen with augmented reality support. The somewhat rounded shape of the LCD screen, instrument panel, buttons, door handles and steering wheel contrasts with the rugged shape of the exterior design, but looks attractive and gives a sense of completeness. In addition, the materials used are of really good quality. Forget the old "plastic" image of Hyundai's interiors - now Volkswagen models need to reach the level of Korea. The heating, ventilation and air conditioning controls on the navigation screen combine the physical buttons with the sensors. Sure, there could be more physical and less tactile things - but that’s a tribute to fashion. The trunk capacity of the car is 527 liters - that's a lot for a hatchback. We say hatchback because we wouldn’t dare call this car a crossover. The tailgate can be increased to 1,587 liters by folding down the rear seats. It's easy to get on the road with the Ioniq 5 - good visibility in all directions, the steering is not very sharp, but precise enough. The true suspension is a bit stiff - the giant 19- or 20-inch rims are to blame. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 can be equipped with roof solar cells that transmit electricity to the battery. The new electric car is sold with 58 kWh or 72.6 kWh batteries and two electric motor configurations. It is possible to choose the version with the engine only at the rear or with engines at the front and rear. The more powerful version has a 155 kW and 350 Nm engine at the rear, and a 70 kW and 255 Nm engine at the front and is powered by all four wheels. With a single charge, the Ioniq 5 can travel up to 470-480 km, and 10 to 80 percent can be charged in just 18 minutes. For those in a hurry, it will take 5 minutes to charge enough energy for a distance of 100 km!
