The Mercedes-Benz C is a compact, prestigious car made with sedan and station wagon bodies. The second-generation C-Class has a more aggressive new-style design and is somewhat similar to Mercedes' flagship, the new S-Class, and in some details the CLS-Class. The new generation has a longer wheelbase and track. Equipped with four- and six-cylinder engines, and a 6.2-liter V8 63 AMG powerplant with 457 hp (335 kW) and acceleration to 100 km / h in 4.7 seconds, it is one of the fastest mass-produced 4-door sedans in the world. This model is designed to compete with the Audi RS4 and BMW M3. Versions with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system were available. The car is produced in Classic, Elegance, Avantgarde and AMG versions. Classic and Elegance retain the traditional Mercedes-Benz radiator grille with a triangular star on the hood, the Avantgarde line has a grille similar to the sporty Mercedes with two horizontal lines and a large MB star on the grille. One of the most interesting innovations is called “driving sharpness control”. It is an innovative system that gives drivers excellent maneuverability and traditional Mercedes driving comfort. This is achieved through the use of a set of hydromechanical devices that continuously analyze road conditions, the driver’s driving style and adjust the shock absorber and suspension settings accordingly. The new C-Class model is the first car in the world to be based on the DPT digital prototype. A bundle of computational methods was applied in this process, using about 2.1 terabytes of data to create a fully virtual car. In this way, the virtual car has "traveled" about 15 million miles to test the new Class C collision protection systems, the car's noise, vibration and sound sharpness characteristics, robustness, energy consumption, climate control systems and aerodynamic properties.
