Although the letter Z has recently been associated with extremely unpleasant events, in the automotive industry Z has always meant something sporty and interesting. Kogero is best known for the Nissan Z series cars - powerful, sporty, exclusive, attractive and at a decent price. Ideally balanced for sports car enthusiasts. The new Nissan coupe is now called simply "Z" or like its predecessors "Fairlady". The engine displacement is no longer in the name, which is increasingly losing its meaning with the electrification of the automotive industry. So far, the Z series cars have had bigger and bigger engines with each generation - 2 L, 2.4 L, 2.6 L, 3 L, 3.5 L, 3.7 L, this time the Nissan Z is powered by a smaller 3.0 L "VR30DDTT" V6 petrol engine, but with two turbochargers. The engine develops a power of 400 hp and a torque of 475 Nm. That's 30 percent more power than the old naturally aspirated 370 Z, though the turbo doesn't sound as good as the old naturally aspirated one. The engine spins the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox inherited from its predecessor and a carbon fiber driveshaft. Mercedes-Benz 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission is also available. The dimensions of the new Nissan Z are very close to its predecessor, the dimensions of the straight car are very similar to the dimensions of the new generation Toyota Supra - the length of both cars is identical, but the Nissan Z is a little narrower and a little taller than the Toyota. Not only the dimensions of both cars are similar, but also the power if we compare the more powerful versions of the Toyota Supra. Now these cars are the closest competitors, although we expected the Toyota Supra to compete more closely with the Nissan GT-R, and the Z-series Nissan with a new Toyota that could have, say, the Celica name. It is also interesting how manufacturers optimize costs when releasing new sports cars. For example, Toyota developed the Supra together with BMW's Z4 model, while the Nissan Z model is based on the old 370 Z base, which is also reflected in the interior details of the new Z. This shows how little demand there is for such sports cars compared to previous decades. A few words about the Nissan Z design, which has been of interest to us for a very long time. Viewed from the profile, the car continues the traditions of its predecessors - the highest point at the windshield and further sharply descending roof line, long front, short compact rear end create the impression of a car ready to sprint. The car's lines have become more moderate, smoother, less muscular than its predecessors. When viewed from other angles, it is easy to notice the significantly changed front and rear lights - it is these details that give a somewhat ambiguous impression. Although they look a bit unexpected, they are a concrete reference to older Z-series cars. The elongated two-level taillights are reminiscent of the Nissan 300 ZX of the 1980s and 1990s, while the drop-shaped headlights, wide radiator grille and high and sharp hood ridge are reminiscent of the Datsun 240 ZG of the 1970s. Even the hood lines echo the shapes of the old 240Z, 260Z and 280Z models. Kogero, not everyone will notice such details, maybe not everyone will like the design of Nissan's newcomer, but it is clear that the Nissan Z has character and a unique style, and you will not confuse it with any other car. The body of the Nissan Z has been developed using aerodynamic engineering know-how – in the Performance version, a small rear airfoil creates enough downforce to reduce the loss of rear-wheel traction, while the front air splitter has been developed using knowledge gained from Nissan's GT-R development program.
