The third-generation Peugeot 3008 was created on the third-generation STLA Medium platform jointly with other Stellantis companies, so it shares units with similar cars of the Stellantis concern, such as the second-generation Opel Grandland model. If you're looking for something more distinctive, the Citroen C5 Aircross and DS 7 models are built on this platform, which share the same architecture but offer different driving characteristics. All of these models have enough room for five adults and luggage, but if you want more cabin space, you can opt for the larger seven-seat Peugeot 5008, which also shares the same platform, only stretched. The new Peugeot 3008 model is built on a new platform, which also includes plug-in hybrid and fully electric power plants. Compared to its predecessors, the third-generation 3008 model has become more like a coupe SUV, with an aerodynamic drag coefficient now of only 0.28. This is emphasized by the extremely sloping rear part of the car, which reduces the interior space. However, the car still has a 591-litre boot, which is bigger than, say, a Nissan Qashqai model. In terms of style, the new model hasn't strayed too far from its predecessor, but has become somewhat sharper and shares similar design elements with the recently released Peugeot 308 and Peugeot 408 models. The front is dominated by a new-style grille, on its sides three vertical Claw Effect LEDs are perfectly integrated, imitating the marks left by lion's claws. They use Peugeot's new "Pixel LED" lighting technology. The strong station of the car is emphasized by interesting wheel arches with double rims - one rim of black plastic, traditionally characteristic of crossovers, and a slightly higher one - embossed in the wings of the car. When it comes to engine options, the Peugeot 3008 offers an exceptionally wide range of options, with petrol, diesel, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains on offer. Such a variety of powertrains means that the company considers the 3008 model to be essential in the company's car range, this car must appeal to different buyers with different needs. This approach is necessary because this class of crossovers is the most in demand in Europe and has a group of very capable competitors such as Nissan Qashqai, Ford Kuga, Skoda Karoq, Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage. The Peugeot 3008 engine range includes so-called (mild) hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants, as well as a traditional turbocharged petrol engine and a BlueHDi diesel for those who regularly drive long distances. All 3008 models have automatic transmissions, with the 1.2L petrol and 1.2L Mild hybrid versions using a six-speed automatic, while the diesel and plug-in hybrids use an eight-speed automatic. Admittedly, if you want an all-wheel drive option, you'll be disappointed - the 3008 doesn't have four-wheel drive options. However, Peugeot offers a Grip Control system that should provide the good grip you'll need on slippery roads. Driving modes suitable for snow, gravel, mud or asphalt can be selected on the center console with a rotary control.
