The Toyota RAV4 is a compact SUV. It was launched to meet the expectations of buyers who wanted a car with off-road features: more trunk, better visibility, an all-wheel drive system, and at the same time a car with maneuverability, economy and reliability. The RAV4 was a hugely successful car in this respect, followed by other mini SUVs such as the Honda CR-V, Mitsubishi Outlander, Ford Escape / Mazda Tribute and Subaru Forester.
