The Alfa Romeo GT is a sports coupe car built on a somewhat old 156 model platform. The design of the car was developed by the Bertone company, which has a long history of cooperation with Alfa Rome. The GT design is universally acknowledged to have really happened. Most of the mechanical parts of the GT share the same 156 model, and the suspension is similar to the newer but smaller 147 - two-front at the front and multi-lever at the rear. The interior is very similar to the smaller hatchback 147, the GT model also uses the 147 electronic part. Engines - 2.0 petrol, 1.9 MultiJet turbodiesel and the most powerful 3.2 V6 petrol. The GT is very similar to another Alfa Romeo model, the Brera (which is based on the newer Alfa 159 sedan). Both cars can be considered to have replaced the PTO model. It is somewhat unusual when one manufacturer produces several coupe models at the same time, which can be competitors of each other.

The Alfa Romeo GT, although having a coupe body, is a five-seater.
