Car description
Hi! I bought my Vauxhall with a 1.8 petrol engine half a year ago. I can tell you, just like many others I was looking for a new car without having an idea of what I really want :). I was trying to choose from 8-12 different models :) Although I don’t drive much, but comparing with Toyota Avensis Vauxhall was my favourite one. The interior is pleasant, very modern and not boring at all. By the way, Audi and BMW drives don’t judge me for what I’m about to say, but the feeling of driving Insignia doesn’t differ from the above-mentioned cars. So my question is: why should I become an advertising victim and buy the same BMW for double the price?? Is it because of a better looking car logo? :) To my mind, if you’re looking for a big, beautiful and fuel-efficient car, Vauxhall Insignia is the right one. It’s about time to change that old-fashioned stereotype that you will look cool only with BMW, Mercedes-Benz or Audi :) Once I had all of these cars and no matter how cool they were it was obvious - they all rust, breakdowns occur and they aren’t any better from my current Vauxhall.
Performance
A 1.8 L petrol engine with a 6-speed manual transmission. Everything would be fine, but this car needs at least 2.0 L engine, thus it has lack of traction. If to go for 2.4 L, the car simply won’t be economical, so I would never be interested in it. The reason I’m not saying a word about diesel is because of the DPF filter, EGR valve and car glow plugs – that’s enough for me. When I had diesel (not Vauxhall), it all brought me nothing but problems. That’s why I’d never suggest to my friends to buy Vauxhall that runs on diesel.
Reliability, running costs
I am lucky because during a half-year period I didn’t need to change anything. As for the maintenance cost, personally it satisfies me. No depreciation scares me either. To sum up, if you’re over 30, you have a family and want to enjoy travelling without getting tired quickly, you can buy this really beautiful and high-quality vehicle for a relatively low price. Good luck!!!
Recommendations to buyers
I might change my mind after a few years, but for now I recommend not to buy a car from Italy.
