The Volvo company already has a lot of experience in the electric car segment with the C40 and XC40 Recharge models and the stylish Polestar brand cars. However, the new EX90 SUV is Volvo's first model designed purely as an electric car, replacing the hugely popular Volvo XC90. From now on, the Volvo company will introduce one new fully electric model every year and is ready to produce only electric cars by 2030. Looking at the newcomer, we see that the design of the Volvo EX90 is an obvious evolution of the XC90 with some details taken from the stylish Polestar cars. The mildly angular silhouette, raised shoulder line, and strict-shaped headlights and taillights are very similar to the Volvo XC90 model introduced a decade ago. It's amazing how Volvo designers manage to create designs that are so timeless. Of course, there are new details that perfectly complement the classic Volvo design - LED-lit front grille, recessed handles, interesting lines that enhance the impression of the wheel arches and aerodynamically designed wheels. Of course, the biggest news is not on the outside of the car, but on the inside - the EX90 is built on the same pure electric SPA2 platform as the recently introduced Polestar 3. There are two engine powertrain options to choose from. The basic variant with the Twin Motor system develops 408 hp and 770 Nm of torque. Despite the huge weight of 2,818 kg, two engines and all-wheel drive allow the SUV to reach 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The more expensive Twin Motor Performance version shaves a full second from this time thanks to a higher engine output of 517 hp and an impressive 910 Nm of torque. Both versions reach a not-so-impressive top speed of 180 km/h. According to the WLTP, the Volvo EX90 can travel up to 600 km on a single charge, and the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent. charge in less than 30 minutes. Inside, the car continues the tradition of Scandinavian design, dominated by a huge vertical LCD screen and very few physical controls. Let us remind you that it was the Volvo company in the XC90 along with the Tesla Model 3 that were among the first to install vertical screens. More than five meters long, the Volvo flagship continues to offer seven-seater versions with a 310-liter trunk. When the third row is folded, the luggage compartment increases to 655 liters, and if you leave only the front seats, you can get a luggage compartment with a capacity of 1915 liters. The Volvo EX90's size puts it in competition with the Mercedes EQS SUV, BMW iX, Audi Q8 e-tron and the soon-to-be-released Kia EV9 and Range Rover EV. So, the Volvo EX90 is the biggest, most luxurious and most powerful car Volvo has ever produced.
